8th Grade Composers Win Big

Eighth graders Ande and Menea each wrote and entered her song in University of Missouri’s Creating Original Music Program, and they both won! Ande received FIRST PLACE with her guitar/drum song with lyrics – Rate Your Pain. (The attached slideshow offers a minute sample of Ande’s song.) Menea wrote Moving On for piano and won THIRD! They’re headed to Mizzou to perform their winning compositions April 18, and of course to collect their sizable checks! Ladue Middle School’s music program receives over $1000 as a result as well. Ande plays guitar, bass, keyboard & ukulele now and has recently formed a rock band with some high school boys who play only originals. Menea’s gift for piano and cello is remarkable and music schools will be fighting over her soon.

Both entrants chose to enter a song with lyrics in the Popular Music category and competed against 6th, 7th and 8th graders all over Missouri. Bookmark their names. They’ll be selling out arenas some day. Ande Siegel 14 year old singer songwriter Menea and Ande Ande Siegel
